The Humphrey Program sends accomplished mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership potential to the United States for a year of graduate-level, non-degree academic coursework and professional development activities. Fellows are nominated based on potential for leadership and commitment to public service.
The application season for the 2023 Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship in the United States is now open. Please email your completed application form to the U.S. Embassy in Tirana by February 15, 2023. Applications should be emailed to CultureandEducationTirana@state.gov.
Ambassadors Fund for Summer Work & Travel Program
The U.S. Embassy in Tirana Albania is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Ambassadors Fund for Summer Work and Travel scholarship program. The Summer 2023 program is for students pursuing studies in Tourism and Hospitality at Eqerem Cabej University in Gjirokaster, Fan S. Noli University in Korçe, and Aleksander Moisiu University in Durres.
The U.S. Embassy Speakers Program is designed to explain U.S. policies and culture. Through this program, Albanian universities and high schools can request to have an American Officer visit their students and speak on a variety of subjects.

The U.S. Embassy Tirana of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit proposals for funding under the Democracy Commission program. Deadline for Applications: May 17, 2023.
Ambassadors Fund For Cultural Preservation
The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce that we are now accepting project proposals for the 2023 Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) – (US $10,000 to US $500,000) program. The AFCP is one of many ways that we partner with Albania to preserve its unique cultural heritage. Project proposals should be submitted to CultureandEducationTirana@state.gov.
The Countering Violent Extremism Small Grants Program, administered by the Public Affairs Section, is soliciting proposals from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Albania that create, develop, and foster countering and preventing violent extremism capacities and that build alert and cohesive communities.
Advancing Youth Activism and Engagement
This program seeks to support youth civic engagement by cultivating and strengthening the capacities of young activists to address community issues, increase political engagement, and advance key issues impacting Albanian youth groups throughout the country through concrete actions.
